COUNCILOR John Michael Seno, chair of the committee on sports and youth development, recently disclosed the upcoming construction of the proposed Cagayan de Oro City Sports Training Center in Lumbia.

This, after the City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy approved the city’s supplemental budget in the amount of P88.2 million  for the implementation of various projects, which include Phase 1 of the P50 million training center.

Seno said the state-of-the-art facility will soon rise in a three-hectare lot near Lumbia Elementary School.

The CDOC Sports and Training Center will be well-equipped with facilities such as rubberized track and field oval, olympic-standard size swimming pool, lawn tennis courts, archery range, boxing gym, athlete’s quarters (dormitory), canteen and parking spaces. (sp)
