Filipino phone manufacturer Starmobile, the mobile subsidiary of Star Telecom Alliance Resources, Inc. (STAR, Inc.), is the official device partner of Smart Communications as it embarks on a nationwide initiative to improve the availability and speed of its Long Term Evolution (LTE) service.
Starmobile recently provided top-of-the-line LTE devices such as the UP Selfie and UP Prime to help Smart demonstrate its LTE connectivity in the country’s northernmost province Batanes to local government representatives and residents. Given the lack of mobile phone stores in Batanes, the event allowed the locals to purchase affordable LTE devices on the spot and experience the much-improved connection in their province.
