Iligan City — A post on social media that a stranger injected a grade schooler inside the school here has sent parents in panic.

President of Associated Barangay Councils of the city yesterday Cesarve Siacor confirmed that such report was true.

He said the incident happened at Tomas Cabili Elementary School on March 8. He added that the child, a girl, has been seen with a stranger milling about the school for days which seemed to be a parent. The girl was about to go out when the stranger injected the girl with a syringe.

Siacor said the parents of the girl has sought his help as the girl has been suffering from body cramps.

Siacor added the barangay officials obliged and also sought the assistance of Mayor Celso Regencia and Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz who were equally alarmed, readily gave their assistance to the girl.

The girl has been taken to Northern Mindanao Medical Center.

Roda Demetillo, a teacher of the school said efforts are being made to set-up a CCTV in the school so that people coming inside the school premises can be monitored even as they are now preventing adults to come inside said school.
