The body of 20-year old Venus Alicante Pasco was recovered underneath the watersfalls only on Monday using a water compressor from the heavy turbulent waterfalls in Brgy. Tandacul Lilingayan Bukidnon since she reportedly drowned on Sunday at about 1 pm, according to Carlos Arganio, Vice President for MVC Student Affairs.

Arganio said  Pasko was an in-house student who requested for a leave on Sunday morning from her college dean. The victim asked permission to go home to her home town in Lilinganan to visit her relatives.

Arganio emphasized he only allowed Pasko to go out of the campus because her reason to leave was valid. Pasko, however, had other plans along with 10 of her schoolmates.

Rommel Ramos, who was with Pasko during the incident, said their group agreed to have a picninc at the waterfalls––a two hour drive from the campus.

Ramos said they did not expect the tragic fate that befell Pasko. He said they were busy taking group pictures when Pasko suddenly dove into the pond below the waterfalls.

Ramos said they froze in shock as they saw their friend drowning because of the strong current.

Pasko’s remains will be brought to her mother’s house at lake Apo, Arganio said.

“The entire campus mourns the untimely death of Pasko considering she was among the most active in her batch,” Arganio said.

Pasko is the 7th victim who drowned in Kumakaon Falls.
