Gingoog City — Two minor suspects were arrested in less than 24 hours after stealing assorted cellphones and cash from a store along the national highway in front of Agora clock tower, here, last Friday afternoon.

In a phone interview, City Police Chief Col. Ariel Philip I. Pontillas confirmed the arrest of the two minor suspects. He, however, did not mention where they caught the suspects.

Pontillas said the minors have carted away P300 thousand worth of display items of assorted cellphones of different brands and personal belongings  owned by a Chinese who opened business three weeks ago.

According to store attendant the display items the suspects stole amounted to P213,790 based on their inventory.

The cash possibly amounting to more than P86,000, she added.

According to Macarayo, the suspects admitted to stealing the cellphones and cash but added that they could not return it.

Confiscated from one of the minor suspects was one improvised hand gun, more commonly called sumpak, said Macarayo.
