Cagayan de Oro’s yearly fiesta celebration, commonly known as Higalaay Festival, is a long weekend festivity packed with a sequence of vibrant, cultural and fun-filled core events that culminates on the 28th of August, which is the feast day of the city’s patron saint, St. Augustine.

The celebration has developed not only as the expected day of thanksgiving but also as a campaign to promote and support our city, Cagayan de Oro as a tourism destination.  The Higalaay Carnival Street Parade is one of the core events of this city’s’ annual feast in honor of St. Augustine. Here are the lists of winners:

 

Carnival results:

Macabalan won the as the 2nd runner up and 50 thousand, Mambuaya won as 1st and 75 thousand While Bugo National High School was adjudged as the champion in this year’s Higalaay Carnival Street Parade and brought home 125 thousand.

Most Diciplined: Carmen National High School

Best in Gold: Bugo National High School

Best Carnival Costume: Bugo National High School

Most Festive: Mambuaya National High School

Festival king & Queen 2nd Runner up = Liceo de Cagayan University

1st runner up = Bugo National High School

Champion = Mambuaya National High School
