NOT so fast, internet cafes and “pisonet” establishments.

Lawyer Jose Edgardo Uy, head of an economy task group of the city government, said the internet cafes and “pisonet” establishments need to wait for another set of guidelines before they can resume operations.

Uy said the business compliance group under the law and order cluster of the city government’s Emergency Operations Center would soon release the guidelines.

Once released, then and only then would these establishments be allowed to resume operations.

He said this after the city was placed under a modified general community quarantine effective today for being classified as a “low-risk” area by the Covid-19 Inter-Agency Task Force.

Under modified general community quarantine, amusement, gaming and fitness establishments, kids and tourism industries, barbershops and salons may resume operations at 50 percent capacity.

During the meeting of the business compliance sub-cluster, Uy said he was still drafting the guidelines for internet cafes and “pisonets.” The draft would then be presented to the task group for review and approval.

Kinahanglan mag-implement sila og safety health protocols otherwise ipasira na pud sila,” Uy said.

Some proposed health safety protocols for the establishments include mandatory regular disinfection of keyboards, mouses, computer coin slots, and chairs, among others. (Annabelle Ricalde of CIO)
