The primary aim of this project is to give due credit and recognize accomplishments of both public elementary and secondary school teachers, in the delivery of quality basic education. To encourage teachers to continue their competencies and identify innovative education models that other teachers would be able to benefit and enhance their teaching effectiveness.

The evaluation process of the MOPSTA search was in two phases: first, was the evaluation of the pertinent documents of outstanding teachers that DepEd Region 10 endorsed to the MOPSTA Evaluation Committee; second phase, was the actual classroom teaching demonstration, essay writing and interview.

This year’s search led the MOPSTA Evaluation Committee to Ozamiz City, Bukidnon, Gingoog City and Cagayan de Oro City. It was worth fulfilling how the teachers communicated, demonstrated their competencies and displayed innovation in teaching. It was through the interview and essay writing that the panel of judges composed of Rotary Club of Wests Cagayan de Oro members were able to know, see and feel their philosophy in life, passion and commitment in reaching and building of the precious lives that were entrusted to them not only in the classrooms but also in the communities where they are situated.

The Rotary Club of West CDO attributes the success of MOPSTA to the continued partnership of the Department of Education – Region 10 and the heirs of the late Mayor Justiniano R. Borja through the Gigi Borja Endowment Fund headed by Retired Associate Justice / Past Assistant Governor Romulo V. Borja as the Major Sponsor and other benefactors who have the heart for the public school teachers.
