THE Cagayan de Oro Task Force Firecrackers and the Regulatory and Complaint Board has seized at least P500-worth of various firecrackers in a joint operation late last month.

The various firecrackers were seized from illegal sellers in Rotonda, Macasandig and other areas in the city.

Jane Docallos, who also heads the Department of Interior and Local Government City Office, led the task force with RCB chairman Jose Edgardo Uy.

Uy said they seized 64 boxes of assorted firecrackers. Of these, 30 boxes contained the illegal Judas Belt.

The boxes, Uy added, has no “PS” or Philippine Standard marking.

He said the illegal firecrackers are currently under the custody of the DILG City Office.

Uy bared that they have scheduled a meeting with the Task Force Firecrackers next week to decide how to disposed of the seized contrabands.

Amo pang mitingan unsa-on namo ni pag-dispose. Sunogon ba, ilubong ba sa yuta,  o basa-on ba sa tubig, aron dili na magamit,” he explained.

Also to be taken up on the meeting, Uy added, will be the filing of formal charges against the sellers of the illegal firecrackers.
