Iligan City — “We are sorry for the loss of our mobile signal, Globe LTE and prepaid Wi-Fi signal during the “Pagpakanaug and procession of Senior San Miguel. This was done in compliance with the directive of the National Telecommunications Commission. Our signal is now fully restored and you may continue to enjoy our services. Thank you for your understanding.”

This was the message of Globe Telecom to its subscribers last Thursday, the day of the said ritual which was jammed for more than three hours. But by past 10 pm the signal were restored.

To recall, Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz, who was then acting city mayor, in a meeting with the peace and order council late August had planned to jam mobile phone signals just like what Cagayan de Oro City did during its fiesta days in August. This is to prevent bomb attacks.
