Coinciding with its 5th year of operations, this will be the company’s first step in expanding its business beyond smartphones and tablets and into providing connectivity solutions to home, SME, and enterprise clients.

“The growth of these sectors and the rise of a young and tech-savvy middle class have increased the demand for dependable connectivity solutions,” said Manus. “With STAR, Inc. being one of the country’s leading Filipino technology brands, we are more than equipped to respond to this need.”

“We are very happy to partner with STAR, Inc.,” said TP-LINK Country Manager Sidney Zheng. “With their expertise in retail and product management, we are confident that we will be able to expand our presence in the Philippines”

As a nationwide distributor, the company will be able to offer the full range of TP-LINK products and solutions to various customers, from up-and-coming establishments who want to offer Wi-Fi to their customers, to large scale projects like business process outsourcing companies (BPOs) and real estate developments.

With TP-LINK renowned globally for offering smart connectivity solutions at prices more affordable than competitor brands, this agreement also strengthens STAR, Inc’s position as a tech company that makes innovative products and services more accessible for more Filipinos.

“TP-LINK will help us realize our dream of being the leading provider of connectivity solutions to Filipinos,” Manus said. “Even the Philippine Government realizes the need for information and communications technologies with the creation of the DICT,” he added.

Manus refers to the Department of Information and Communication Technology, which was established by the Aquino Administration under the DICT Act of 2015 or also known as Republic Act (RA) No. 10844.

The new department underscores the importance of ICT as it is tasked to become the “primary policy, planning, coordinating, implementing and administrative entity of the Executive branch of the government that will plan, develop and promote the national ICT development agenda.” pr
