Yes, you read it right. One of the perks of travel photography is that when you’re at the right place at the right time. Fortunately for me, I was in Singapore when the actors that portrayed Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) were present alongside Marvel Studios’ director Joe Russo and executive producer Trinh Tran. It was the ultimate fan service experience as marvel and super hero fanatics came to Marina Bay Sands just to have a glimpse of the people that have created a universe in a 10 year time frame. It all started out in 2008 with the first Iron Man film with Robert Downey Jr, and now all the avengers will come together as they fight off the baddest of the bad villain: THANOS!

During the fan event at Marina Bay Sands, fans were treated to see the infinity gauntlet which the villain Thanos will be wearing to collect the infinity stones. Marvel’s success for the past 10 years was a roller coaster ride but it has now created a huge fan base from all ages. Tourists came from everywhere! Marvel hardcore fans from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and some as far as Russia came to the event. The event was for free but you had to queue as early as 5am to get a pass. Luckily for me, I was there early and had a good spot to take photos of the stars.

The Marvel celebrities joked about who could defeat Thanos and the intense secrecy of how the studio even gave them different scripts to preserve the plot and ending for the super fans. Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity war is set to premiere on the 25th of April and fans are already on the edge of their seat as they wonder how this will play out. With a cast so big that covers the 10 year franchise films, Thor, Black Panther, Spider Man, Captain America and more will be present in this master piece of a superhero block buster. At the end of the event, the fans cried out: “Avengers, Assemble!” and the magnificent light show of the Marina Bay Sands started which then showed the soul stone at the Marina Bay Front.

It was a spectacular night for any fan, even for a travel photographer such as myself. It was (no pun intended): Marvel-ous.
