THICK haze over some areas in Mindanao have been reported the past two days supposedly as a result of reportedly as a result of forest fires in Indonesia.

Mindanews reported yesterday that thick haze due to the forest fires drastically reduced visibility.

It then showed two photos, one taken in 2012 and the other taken yesterday. The 2012 photo show that during normal times, one is greeted with the scenery of Iligan Bay and Mt. Agad-agad upon entering Iligan City, a hint of downtown Iligan on the right side of the horizon, and even the tall mountains of Lanao del Sur on the right side. The other photo showed the thick haze and reduced visibility.

Meanwhile, reports from from Lopez Jaena said communities experienced thick haze, smoke or fog with stinky odor. There was also zero visibility in some parts.

Similar incidents were also reported in Ozamiz, Tangub, Jimenez and even in Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
