Davao City — Some 7,500 individuals or 1,500 households have been affected by severe tropical storm Vinta in Barangay 8-A, particularly in purok 7, 9B, 10A and 10B rescued by 911 rescuers assisted by trained barangay disasters rescuers and with the San Pedro Police office and the Task Force Davao

They are now temporarily staying at the Madapo Gym and College Brokenshire Amphi-theatre at Madapo hill.

Mga alas kwatro sa hapon murag taligsigsik raman wala mi nag tuo nga modako diay tubig sa sapa, hangtud namatikdan namu nga taga tuhod na,” one of the survivors said.

There were houses that were flushed out by the strong currents of waters. The floods also damaged properties and drowned livestock.

The City Social Services and Development Office personnel  headed by District Supervisor Ruby Lopez took the listing of victims for assessment and handing over of relief goods.

The list will also be used to ascertain who will recieve financial support.

The Barangay Council of 8-A headed by Punong Barangay Ariel Lagmay immediately called a special session to declare their barangay in a state of calamity through a resolution.
