THREE drug suspects have been arrested here after a series of joint buy-bust operations of the Carmen Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-10 on Monday.
Senior Insp. Demver Vergara, Carmen police chief, identified the suspects as Michael Vincent Conigo, 26, 3rd-year student of Lourdes College, and a resident of Crossing Camp Evangelista, Barangay Patag, this city; Runel Lingcong, 28, a resident of Sumpong Indahag; and Jesson Briones, 27, a security guard at one of the malls downtown, and a resident of Danao Patag, Opol town in Misamis Oriental.
Vergara said Conigo was the first they arrested at 9:50 pm at Hayes St where they seized half of gram of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P3 thousand. Police also confiscated his phone and P220 cash.
However, Vergara said the target of their operation that night, a certain Cyril Canonigo, managed to elude the buy-bust operation.
At around 11:50 pm, Vergara said, they arrested Lingcong and Briones at Barangay 3.
Seized from the suspects were two sachets of suspected shabu, P500 bill marked money, cellphone, and a motorcycle.
Vergara said the drug suspects are currently in the custodial facility of PDEA-10 while charges of illegal drug trafficking and illegal possession of prohibited drugs are being prepared.
