DIGOS City — A local businnes was shot dead inside a suburban restaurant shortly before midnight yesterday.

Ramil Hugan, 43, a resident of Sitio Barongoy, Barangay Dawis, Digos City died from a single bullet wound to his abdomen.

Police said Hugan, along with his friends were having a drinking session inside the Smoke House Pub along the corners of Aurora and Bataan Streets here when the incident occurred.

Witnesses said they heard a gun shot including Hugan who quickly stood up only to knew he was hit at the right abdomen.

The shooter who was said to have fired the gun from a distance wore a woman’s wig and a bullcap during the incident.

He was brought to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City but he died while doctors were attending on him.

Hugan loss two electoral bid in 2013 and 2016 for a seat in the city council.

Meanwhile, an employee of Davao Sugar Central Corporation (Dasuseco) was also shot dead hours ahead of Hugan on the same night.

Authorities identified the victim as Napoleon Tolentino, a resident of Barangay Guihing, Hagonoy town.

Reports said Tolentino was alarmed over what seemed to be a gunshot fired within the vicinity of his residence.

When he went out of his house to verify another gun shot was heard, this time the bullet hit his chest. He died upon arrival at the provincial hospital in Digos City.
