Devaras said Ramon Carlos was the third most watched suspect in the list of the Philippine Drug  Enforcement Agency (PDEA) who did not respond to the “Oplan Tokhang” campaign in the barangay.

Police alleged that the Calderon brothers sold illegal drugs to fish and meat vendors at the Puerto market.

The alleged shootout took place when the CIDG agents carried out a buy-and-bust operation in the area where the Calderon brothers allegedly had a hideout at around 9:30 pm.

Devaras said the suspects fired shots at SPO4 Noel Oclarit but missed, prompting the officers to shoot back.

Ramon Carlos was rushed to the Sabal Hospital in Bugo while Jose Louis  was brought to the Northern  Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC). The siblings were declared dead on arrival by doctors.

The CIDG claimed the suspects were armed with three loaded caliber .38 revolvers, two long barrel airguns, a .357 revolver, knives, boloes and other bladed weapons.

The CIDG said the suspects also had with them a marked money of P2 thousand, four sachets of suspected shabu, marijuana and  drug paraphernalia.

At the suspects’ alleged hideout, the CIDG found many snakes, including a 12-foot python, a wild cat, raven and scorpions. These were turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). (nitz arancon and lito rulona)
