Police identified the fatality as Rocky Pantollano Bernas, 32, and a resident Barangay Saray, this city.

Bernas succumbed to seven bullet wounds in different parts of his body.

Initial investigation with Bernas’ live-in partner, Avon Guadalupe Fernandez, show that at about 4:30 pm on Thursday, a certain Andy Cordega, Arnold Generalao, and five other unidentified suspects forcibly took Fernandez out of their house and entered their house.

Fernandez told police she heard a series of gunfire after. She posited that the suspects might have suspected his partner to be a police asset.

Fernandez said she immediately went to Saray Barangay Hall to report the incident to a certain Minda Ladaga, a staff on duty, but the latter, allegedly, did not do anything.

It was not until a barangay councilor “Alburo” reported the incident 30 minutes later that the police were able to respond.

The city’s Crime Laboratory Office operatives processed the crime scene and recovered three spent bullet casings of a caliber .45 pistol.
