Police said 22-year old Mark Jun Dasok succumbed to multiple stab wounds on Velez-Dolores streets at around 2:20 am yesterday.

Dasok, a resident of Lower Mangahan, Barangay Balulang, was a graduating nursing student of Liceo de Cagayan University.

PO3 Alaindelon Tacubao said Dasok was declared dead on arrival by doctors at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center,  (NMMC).

Investigators said Dasok was stabbed to the lower left ear, left side of the face, neck, chest, ribs area, and abdomen. His intestines were nearly exposed.

Tacubao theorized that Dasok was attacked by two or three persons.

He said investigators have asked establishments near the crime scene to allow the police to check of their security camera recordings in the hope of identifying suspects.

Tacubao said the way Dasok was attacked suggested there was more than one assailant, and that they held personal grudges against the victim.

“Dako ang posibilidad nga suko gyud kaayo ang mga suspect tungod sa grabing samad sa lawas sa biktima,” he said.

The victim’s 52-year old father Marcelo called on authorities to speed up their investigation, identify the killers, and bring them to justice.

The elder Dasok said he could not accept the senseless killing of his son.

Marcelo recalled that the victim asked him for fuel money for his motorcycle, and left their house at around 9 pm on Sunday. The victim did not say where he was going.

He said he later worried because his son was still out after midnight.

The father said he subsequently received a phone call from a friend who works at NMMC, and he was told to come. He was later told in the hospital about his son’s fate.

“Grabi ka sakit sa akong gibati, ug  kinsa man kadtong nagpatay sa akong anak, hina-ot nga makonsinsya siya ug mosurender sa mga pulis,” said elder Dasok said.
