Lt. Tawide Galleon of the Cogon police station identified the suspect as 30-year-old Jaime Tominis a.k.a. JR, of Zone 8, Bulua. Tominis, a spices vendor at the Bulua market, hails from Iloilo.

Tominis confessed to abusing the call center agent; he gave this excuse: he was drunk.

Police said the 23-year-old victim from Bukidnon, who is married, was on her way home from work when she was sexually assaulted.

Tominis said he was on his way to the capitol area to rest after drinking beer when he saw the call center agent walking.

He said she looked “so sexy,” and so, “Mao to ako deretsong giablayan ug gihinadlok nga di musinggit.”

Tominis said he dragged the young woman into an abandoned house while threatening to stab her with a barbecue stick.

The woman, who was half naked, reportedly ran off when she saw an opportunity but that was after Tominis  was done abusing her.

The victim returned to the crime scene with members of the barangay police who caught Tominis.

Tominis claimed he was beaten up by barangay police members, and he would have been killed had it not been for the arrival of officers from the Cogon police.

“Akong short pants nga dunay sulod nga P900 nawala. Mao tong gisul-ob ko nalang ang karsones sa babaye nga iya pung gibyaan pagdagan niya,” Tominis said.

The suspect has been placed under detention while a complaint for rape is being prepared against him at presstime.
