Iligan City — A barangay chair has been arrested by trackers of a police station here Wednesday at around 10:00 am.

The police station at Station 1 at Tambo, this city, under its commander, chief investigator Eric Logronio, identified the barangay chair as Joel Jumawan, 42, resident of Permites Compound at Palao, this city, and barangay chair of San Miguel.

The arrest was made  by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court  Branch 1 of Lanao Norte Presiding Judge Ali Balindong dated June 13.

As of press time, he is detained at the station in Tambo, this city and it was learned that no bail has been recommended for him.

No details on the rape case was made although Jumawan said the charge is just “politicized.”
