THE water supply in the western parts of the city up to Opol town in Misamis Oriental would significantly drop again for the nth time starting today. But this time, it’s not because some part in the Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Inc.’s treatment plant in Bukidnon conked out.

Cobi has scheduled a preventive maintenance work on a booster pump at Pualas in Baungon, Bukidnon starting at 9 am today up to 2 pm tomorrow, announced the Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) yesterday.

Ladelle Sagrado, COWD spokesperson, said the shutdown would mean that Cobi’s delivery would drop from 60 million liters per day to 43 million liters or from 2,500 cubic meters per hour to 1,800.

“This will cause temporary water service interruption (low pressure to no water) in the West Service Area especially in elevated portions and multi-storey buildings,” reads part of the COWD advisory. (Nitz Arancon)
