Authorities identified the victim as Najima Basa, 31, a nurse at Amai Pakpak Medical Center of Marawi City. She was found by personnel of Police Station 5 at Poblacion, this city, under station commander SPO2 Mark Anthony Cagalitan, last Tuesday in state of decomposition.

It was learned that she and an unidentified male companion had checked in at Citibest at Pala-o a few days earlier.

The police found out that her neck was bound by a nylon cord and her neck was almost severed from the body. There were also bruises all over her body and her hands were handcuffed. The police estimated that she had been left lifeless for days and could not be found immediately by the room boys as she was under the bed and that portion of the bed was covered.

Police are still facing a blank wall since there were no CCTV cameras on the inn. Relatives have already taken the body for proper burial.
