ILIGAN City — Construction of a five-kilometer concrete road from the junction of Iligan-Bukidnon Road in Barangay Rogongon, this City towards the boundary with Misamis Oriental will soon begin.
In the project overview, Project Engineer Abdulrahman Paunte of the Department of Public Works and Highways mentioned that the road is one of the links that will complete the Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Hinterland Road [Jct. CDO-Kibaritan Road/Dansolihon-Jct. IBR/Rogongon, Iligan City] Alternate Road Package I.
Rogongon Barangay Chairman Randy Pugoy welcomed the project as another gift to his people that would provide a shorter route to Cagayan de Oro City.
He assured the cooperation of their barangay in facilitating the works in the construction of the project.
Jules Verne Padilla, who represented Iligan Lone District Rep. Frederick Siao, inspired the people of the barangay for the project will greatly help in transporting farm products and people to the bigger markets of Cagayan de Oro City.
It was learned that the contractor will start the project as soon as possible under the direct supervision of the DPWH-10, based in Engineer’s Hill, Barangay Bulua in Cagayan de Oro City.
