XAVIER University High School bested over 30 other schools in the 2015 Energy Quiz of Steag State Power Inc. at Limketkai center on Thursday.

The Xavier group bagged a P10-thousand prize, medals and trophy from Steag.

Placing second was the Regional Science High School in Gusa while Corpus Christi High School ranked third. The two schools won P8 thousand and P6 thousand, respectively.

Steag spokesman Jerome Soldevilla said 34 schools from all over Region 10 took part in the annual competition. Each school was represented by a team composed of three members.

Through the annual quiz, Steag aims to enhance and recognize high school students’ knowledge and comprehension in the field of science, particularly on energy. (nitz arancon)
