DIGOS City ― The efforts of anti-illegal drugs police units paid off following the arrest of two suspects in separate operations over the weekend.
Major Daisy Angga, Matanao, Davao del Sur acting police chief in a report, said Carlo Bustamante Lacungan, a resident of Purok Maligaya, Barangay Bato, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur was collared by the police after selling illicit drugs during a buy-bust operation in the afternoon of January 29 at Purok Panaghiusa, Barangay Sinawilan, Matanao town.
Two sachets of suspected shabu were handed over by the suspect to the poseur-buyer in exchange for the P1,000 bill-marked money used by the agents to consummate the transaction.
Another sachet of shabu was recovered from the possession of Lacungan after the body search, the police said.
He was charged with violating RA 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
Meanwhile, Captain Orlando Udalve, Bansalan, Davao del Sur OIC police chief together with the provincial police units launched a joint operation to implement a search warrant at Kilometer 80, Barangay Dolo, Bansalan town leading to the arrest of Randy Lastomen, 34.
Lastomen was the subject of the search warrant (XXI-012 (23)) issued by Regional Trial Court Branch-21 (RTC-21) Judge Alexander Yarra.
The operatives confiscated two plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.3 grams, a small plastic container with a “Tawas” marking believed to be containing shabu, and a caliber .38 revolver with five live ammunition in its cylinder during the search process.
Cash money and some drug paraphernalia were also found inside the area, the report said.
He will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of RA 9165 before the court of law.
