When the late FPJ became the most exciting political personality in the 2004 presidential elections, people closely associated with then First Gentleman Mike A were frantic in toying with the idea that crime pays. They doctored documents from our National Statistics Office, and perjured to no end as though falsification and perjury were illusory, not criminal acts. But our courts of law proved them wrong. FPJ was allowed to run only to be cheated. However, today, it is the critics of “presidentiable” Grace Llamanzares, the legally adopted daughter of the late FPJ and actress Susan Roces, who are accusing the junior senator of not being a Filipino citizen, and trying her worst to alter legal documents on citizenship. Akin to war medals, remember? Certainly, this brouhaha is not funny but nauseating, if you ask me. And neither is it an irony. The truth is, Senator Grace is a natural born Filipino pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 of Article IV of the 1987 Constitution. And the word on the street is a buzz with the loud whispers that she is undoubtedly the daughter of everybody-knows-who (based on her protruding ears and chinky eyes, what with Pinoys’ penchant to word of mouth mania, especially among showbiz, including the growing if not, the avalanching teleserye “Aldub nation,” and in the words of my late unschooled but highly educated Maling, “Dili makumkom ang aso.”). But because our present Constitution is a departure from an ideal constitution which ought to be brief yet concise, instead of putting a period after sub-section 2 of Section 1, Article IV on Citizenship, it added sub-sections 3 and 4 of Section 1, Sections 3 (losing and reacquiring citizenship), 4 (marriage to aliens), and 5 (dual allegiance) which are clearly the subject of ordinary legislations and not constitutional. Senator Grace is unnecessarily made to seat on a hot stove. But since decisions are good only if respected by the sovereign, the most humane and welcome verdict is to allow her to run for the presidency so that in the end, we can say, “The voice of the people is the voice of God.” But even the “voice of God” can be silenced just like in 2004 presidential elections. Remember, “Hello Garci”? If only for this most vital constitutional provision – citizenship - alone, there is an absolute need to have our present Constitution completely overhauled to a federal form of government. But because all the trapos and the filthy rich are trembling in fear of the people’s wrath, they would rather spend their waking hours in discussing money-generating schemes for their reelection and hidden agenda in governance. They want to ensure that a clearly unconstitutional piece of legislation, which originated, completely dictated and drafted in Malaysia (the BBL) pursuant to the CAB, which is not unlike a treaty but without a senate concurrence be passed on the guise of “lasting peace” in Mindanao, not unlike the cemeteries, where most of our brave 44 SAF commandos are laid to rest but not in peace. And because greed is debilitating, it causes early loss of memory. Hence, the trapos of today in collaboration with the filthy rich think they can still buy their reelection to office, including the presidency and the vice presidency. They have completely forgotten that in 1986, all the money, the physical and moral force were tightly held, secured and controlled by the conjugal dictatorship of Ferdinand E. Marcos and his beautiful wife. Further, the KBL cheating machine was all over the country. But People Power wiped it out completely in just a matter of four days. Remember? •• “Let us have faith that right makes might; and, in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.” –Lincoln Trust me, Rody Duterte’s ascendancy to the presidency is unstoppable because Mindanao’s impossible dream of dreams is now the idea that has come of age and is now embedded in every Mindanaoan all over the country. Ergo, Duterte’s invincibility and the dawning of the New Order are within reach: equality between capital and labor and rich and poor. Lasting peace and posterity in Mindanao can only be attained under Duterte’s revolutionary government. Period. “Super Digong” and his entire team will show to the world that Mindanaoans have perfected, People Power of 1986. And hopefully with divine providence, Super Digong would find us worth fighting for. Tsada, di ba?
