DIGOS City ― The municipal mayor of Pigcawayan, North Cotabato was figured in a vehicular accident along the Davao-Cotabato National Highway, specifically in Barangay Tres de Mayo of this city.
Lt. Colonel Hamlet Lerios, Digos City police chief in a media report identified the local chief executive as Juanito Cloud Agustin, 54, a resident of Purok Tigbawan, Pigcawayan, North Cotabato.
Mayor Agustin was driving a Nissan Navara pickup truck together with 5 other passengers heading to Digos City when the vehicle hit the concrete center island of the road near the Iglesia Ni Kristo Church in Barangay Tres de Mayo at about 3:30 pm of July 19.
Emergency responders immediately transported the mayor who reportedly sustained serious physical injuries to Digos Doctors Hospital, a few kilometers away from the scene of the incident, for immediate medical attention and specialized treatment, while the passengers were rushed to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital.
The police identified the passengers as Nancy Agustin, 42; Jacky Agustin, 37; Juan Agustin, 15; Angel Caños, 10; and Nickiey Agustin, 9.
No progress reports, yet as to the medical bulletin of the mayor and his passengers were released to the media as of press time.
