A PAUL SORIANO film that has the potentials of becoming an official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival would be shot in Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte after the Holy Week.

The movie would star Jericho Rosales, a surfing enthusiast, and would depict some of the customs, traditions, aspirations and life of the Siargao islanders.

Siargao Island has been dubbed as the surfing capital of the Philippines.

Surigao del Norte Gov. Sol Matugas said the plan was made when multi-awarded filmmaker Paul Soriano was in Surigao del Norte late last month  with Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade in time for the launch of SkyJet’s direct flight to Siargao from Manila.

“Soriano told us that the movie which will start shooting in April after the Holy Week, will be finished in a month’s time,” Matugas said.

“The showing of this film, locally and maybe internationally, will surely help in achieving the province’s tourism goals,” Matugas said. (ben serrano)
