NORTHERN Mindanao Interior and Local Government department (DILG-10) head regional director Arnel M. Agabe was acknowledged for his exemplary support and commitment to the previous regional and city chapters of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) recently.

PCL regional president Cagayan de Oro City Councilor George Goking said the previous City Council of Cagayan de Oro passed a resolution commending the DILG-10 regional director Agabe for all his support to the programs and projects of the said PCL Chapters.

Goking, as the proponent said the Resolution No. 14185-2022 indicated that Agabe has been supporting all the programs and projects of the City and Regional Chapter for the last six years already.

“Director Agabe did not leave anyone behind in its thrust for a more developed and ready PCL chapters not only in the region but in the country,” said Goking.

Goking said director Agabe was even one of the persons behind the successes of the city and regional PCL chapters.

Further, the 19th City Council expressed that even though no amount of words could equal Agabe’s support, the Council nonetheless deems it necessary to express their gratitude through the passage of this resolution, according to Goking.

“Agabe's leadership as DILG-10 regional director has been relentless in providing "what the PCL chapters deserve to have,” Goking added.

He said it won’t be possible without regional director Agabe's real motivation and concern for the chapters.

“This commendation will also leave a lasting and remarkable mark to director Agabe, on how he did his job in the name of public service,” Goking said.

Goking who was recently designated as PCL National interim Vice President for Mindanao is even optimistic that the next leadership will still reap the benefits of the programs pushed by Agabe.

“I am humbled with this recognition as it inspires me to do more in the pursuit of attaining good local governance here in Region 10. Rest assured that these efforts will continue in the years to come,” said Agabe.

Agabe also extended his appreciation to the PCL Cagayan de Oro City Chapter and the Regional Chapter for constantly supporting DILG 10’s initiatives.

He said the Regional Office attained more of its targets through the active partnership with the PCL, especially during the pandemic.

It can be recalled that the PCL extended its support to DILG 10’s initiated project, the Humanitarian Assistance Project, which intends to assist the numerous locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who are waiting to be fetched by their respective LGUs at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As such, the PCL, together with the Rotary Club of Kalayaan, provided financial assistance and hygiene kits for the LSIs. (With DILG/PIA-10)
