THE world continues to spin. My world did in the last few days because of vertigo, and probably the entire country for the past few years because of doctors, spin doctors.

It is not easy to balance off things in a spinning world, or with a spinning head. The bigger problem though is despite the full knowledge of the world being spun, the spinning head merely smiles and readily accepts what is fed into it.

That is how bad the spins are today. Well-meaning minds, well, what used to be, are into spinning themselves as if they propagate the truth despite full knowledge of the lies and machinations.

In my case, I combat the spin in my head until I get to think and stand up straight, though perplexed why patients of spin doctors bite the lies hook, line, and sinker. And probably including the rod.

Early mornings are a good time to let all these sink in, especially with sips of steaming hot coffee. Life is indeed filled with red flags we have to be watchful for. Avoid the spin doctors and their lies.

Facebook is a source of information of all kinds. One who is not careful about what he reads or is fed could become either an innocent victim or a willing accomplice to spun pieces of information.

Last Saturday, a group of supporters of VP Leni Robredo staged a caravan from Manticao, Misamis Oriental passing through the highway in Cagayan de Oro to the Municipality of Villanueva, Misamis Oriental where some 260 motor vehicles were decorated with pink ribbons, balloons, and tarps reportedly participated in.

I’m not sure if the count already includes the single motorcycles and the bao-bao that either motored through the highway or merely line up at the roadside in different locations throughout the route. And there were plenty of them although most were not seen in the videos or photographs that many participants took of the event.

The caravan was a simultaneous nationwide event. Then I read on FB some accounts who wrote on their wall something like “Ang ni uban sa caravan mga elite;” “Ang ni uban sa caravan mga binayran;” “Puro mga kotse ang ni uban walay pobre.” The gall!

Since I was one of those who joined the caravan last Saturday, the FB post caught my attention. I could have just let it pass without lifting a finger but then I thought this could lead to another spin although the post may have been innocently done.

I had to comment on the post that I was one of those who participated in the Cagayan de Oro leg and I was not paid a single centavo for it, that there were motorcycles and bao-bao whose riders were themselves volunteers and even spent for their own ribbons, balloons, and tarps.

This world is indeed spinning, wittingly or unwittingly. So be careful.
