ILIGAN CITY — Commuters in Butuan City can now book air-conditioned car rides through Maxim, with fares starting at P65 for a four-seater vehicle and P75 for a six-seater.

Maxim Rides & Food Delivery has introduced the new car service in the city, giving residents and visitors another transportation option.

Passengers can check the fare through the Maxim app by entering their pickup and destination addresses before booking. The company said the displayed fare will not change because of traffic conditions, allowing passengers to know their expected travel cost in advance.

“We aim to give Butuan residents more flexibility in choosing a car service that suits their travel needs,” said Reynante Santos, head of Maxim Butuan.

He said the service would also create more earning opportunities for local driver-partners.

Maxim is inviting vehicle owners to join its platform, with commission rates ranging from five to 18 percent. Driver-partners can choose their working schedules and use the service as either a main source of income or an additional livelihood.

The company said its app provides passengers with driver and vehicle details before a ride. It also allows them to track the vehicle's location and route through an integrated map.

Passengers and drivers can communicate through the app without sharing their personal mobile numbers. An emergency SOS feature is also available to connect users with Maxim's support team.

Maxim holds a Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) license and operates car services in several Philippine cities, including Cebu, Manila, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Iloilo, Iligan, General Santos, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Ormoc and Bacolod.

Its entry into Butuan expands its transport network in Mindanao, where it already offers delivery services in the city.

Maxim started operating in the Philippines in 2020, first launching in Cebu. It has since expanded to 22 other cities nationwide, offering transportation, delivery and other services through its digital platform.
