NUTRIASIA, Inc., maker of some of the country’s leading Filipino iconic brands of condiments, sauces, and cooking oils, has been recognized for its consumer communications initiatives in the recently concluded 19th Philippine Quill Awards, winning six Excellence Awards and the Company of the Year 3rd Runner-up Award.

“For our consumer communications to be recognized by Quill is truly an honor. This inspires us even more to develop and implement more consumer-centric programs that generate positive consumer conversations and build unbreakable consumer connections,” said NutriAsia Chief Marketing Officer Ampy Rio.

Among NutriAsia’s campaigns that received Excellence Awards include EcoStation & Select & Collect Homeschool, Boomer vs Zoomer 2.0, Eats A Hack, Mang Tomas Machorap, and Goodbuy 2020.

NutriAsia’s EcoStation and Select & Collect are separate but complementary campaigns to help educate and encourage consumers to live a more eco-conscious lifestyle while helping address the problem of mounting e-commerce waste. A sustainability hub located at the bus stop along 30th street here at BGC, the NutriAsia EcoStation harnesses solar energy to power an integrated watering system that irrigates surrounding plants and has a dispenser that gives free water refills to those who bring their own bottles and containers. Select & Collect, on the other hand, is the first e-commerce locker pick-up system in the Philippines, which allows consumers to buy their favorite NutriAsia pantry staples online, then choose a preferred time to pick up their purchases at the Select and Collect lockers at the NutriAsia EcoStation.

HomeSchool: Masarap Matuto, Masaya Mag-aral is NutriAsia’s first ever e-learning platform, developed to supplement the online curriculum of young students during the pandemic lockdowns. HomeSchool contains five modules that are based on DepEd prescribed programs and are available at NutriAsia’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, the Papa and Locally Facebook pages, and the HomeSchool Learning Hub at https://nutriasia.com/homeschool/

A sequel to a 2020 Mother’s Day video of the same title, Boomer VS Zoomer 2.0 is a 2021 Mother’s Day campaign that paid tribute to moms amidst the limitations of the pandemic, reinforcing the endearing role they play even in the lives of their children who have declared their independence. While the 2020 version showed the son needing instructions from the mom on what and how to cook, the 2021 sequel showed a leveling up in the son’s cooking skills and more confidence in the mom’s ability to use the webcam.

The lockdowns led to a dip in eating out and a rise in consuming home-cooked meals. NutriAsia’s Eats A Hack was developed to empower consumers by keeping mealtimes at home masarap and masaya via a series of recipe videos that instruct semi-skilled and first-time cooks how to “hack” the recipes using NutriAsia kitchen stapes.

Mang Tomas Macho Rap was launched to boost the sarsa’s relevance in making in-home dining experiences more special during the pandemic, and thus foster much closer family ties. A music marketing campaign that ran from December 2020 to April 2021 to drive up consumption and awareness, Macho Rap was targeted at Filipino families cooped up at home and was brought to life by Filipino rappers Gloc 9 and Lirah, and long-time Mang Tomas endorsers, the father-son tandem of Benjie and Andre Paras.

Riding on the rapid advancement and mass adaptation of the online retail phenomena, Goodbuy 2020 is a virtual marketing and promotional initiative that combined the elements of discount shopping, celebrity talk shows, interviews, and dance contests featuring NutriAsia’s well-loved brands. Launched in December 2020, Goodbuy 2020 served as the launchpad of NutriAsia flagship stores at e-commerce platforms Shopee and Lazada.

“The pandemic has challenged us to explore creative ways to reach out to our consumers and make a positive difference in their lives as they strive to adapt to the new normal. Our goal is to further empower our consumers in whatever life stage they are in, through our brands, and through relevant consumer communications,” Rio added. (PR)
