CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region XI has concluded a nationwide digital training initiative that provided eight free online cybersecurity courses to aspiring tech professionals across the country.
Launched as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026 in partnership with global cybersecurity platform Splunk, the self-paced program aimed to bridge the growing demand for skilled cybersecurity defense analysts in the Philippines.
The comprehensive curriculum covered core and specialized topics, including:

Understanding Threats and Attacks
Security Operations and Defense Analyst
Introduction to Splunk
Data and Tools for Defense Analysts
Art of Investigation
SOC Essentials: Investigating with Splunk
SOC Essentials: Introduction to Threat Hunting
Throughout the training period, participants gained hands-on familiarity with threat detection, digital investigation, and security operations using industry-standard platforms. Completers received official certificates of completion and became eligible for digital industry badges to validate their technical competencies for prospective employers.
The program was designed to prepare learners for entry-level and intermediate roles in the technology sector, including Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst, threat detection analyst, incident response analyst, and threat hunter.
With the conclusion of this training cycle, DICT Region XI continues to encourage graduates to leverage their credentials as the agency evaluates future ICT literacy and technical upskilling opportunities.
