TAYLOR Swift has excluded Pinas from her Eras Tour. Add “e” to Eras, and it’s “Erase” for Pinas. Ouch.

The Pinoy Swiftie has two options, though: Singapore and Japan.

But the non-Swiftie has only one option: keber.

When Bruno Mars was in Manila in 2018, I watched his concert despite the keber from me. My sis was curious, and I thought, yeah, why not, coconut? So, while dancing to some of his songs, there I was saying, Ay, siya diay nagkanta ana? Haha! I was so clueless.

Residents of Metro Manila and nearby provinces spend less compared to those coming from Visayas and Mindanao if they want to watch a concert even if the venue is the Philippine Arena which is in Bulacan.

Mindanao residents, in particular, have to spend more on plane tickets since the southern island is far far away, there was even a time when a Luzon resident didn’t know where Cagayan de Oro is and how the Cagayanon could reach Manila. Uh. We’d shout, “Darna!” That’s how we traveled then.

The Pinoy Swiftie has to travel even farther to either Japan or Singapore, spending more money along the way, but it will be worth it for the Swiftie, sort of an investment. Like the Maharlika Investment Fund.

Invest in memories. And watching a concert featuring your idol will definitely produce a treasure trove of memories that you can look back to.

Since I’m not watching Alanis Morrissette’s August 2023 concert anymore, no thanks to the stress that resulted from the postponements and eventually the cancellation of her April 2020 concert, I wonder if I’ll ever regret this decision. I’ve already stopped listening to her music. Wait, I’ve already stopped listening to all kinds of music which has become too noisy for me. I’d rather watch low-carb-fasting videos now.

The silence clears my mind as I fast for 18 hours.

But on Saturday morning, while I was getting my hair done—color, cut, spa—I received a text from someone who had previously cleared that particular situation with our staff. I was like, What the…? It’s a weekend, I was trying to relax, and there was this text. No rest for the weary.

And then, my next thought was, I need more fasting hours. And more writing, More reading. More spring cleaning. With the spring cleaning starting with that woman who texted me. If only I could tell her boss to advise her to resign. Hmmm.

There’s a need to fast pa more in order to clear the mind pa more. So that upon receiving a text from another business’s bossy female employee, your only response will be, Keber.

There are people who always use the panic mode in any situation. I used to have such a neighbor when I was still managing a store. As stores began to open, she would curse in Bisaya while reprimanding her employees. What a way to start the day.

Let’s see—pronounced as that Spanish word for milk—if a Bisaya Swiftie will shout swear words while buying concert and plane tickets, and reserving a hotel room. Good luck na lang.
