CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Mindanao State University–Maigo College of Education, Science and Technology advanced its community development agenda on Nov. 5, 2026, by expanding partnerships with both government and industry leaders.

Led by Campus Superintendent Atty. Jamaloden A. Basar, campus officials signed a food technology agreement with DOST Northern Mindanao and met with GNPower Kauswagan Ltd. Co. to implement joint youth programs.

Dual Milestone

The university met with GNPower Kauswagan Corporate Resilience and Stakeholder Affairs Manager Neil Konrad III Binayao at the Pavilion Conference Hall to operationalize a shared Memorandum of Agreement.

The meeting focused on identifying collaborative projects aimed at expanding educational access, strengthening local community engagement, and supporting youth initiatives across Lanao del Norte.

Industry Ties

School leadership acknowledged GNPower Kauswagan for sponsoring academic scholars and donating cement for ongoing campus development projects.

The private-sector partnership aims to turn institutional commitments into practical support for student development and neighborhood empowerment.

"This collaboration reflects MSU-MCEST's continuing commitment to strengthening industry partnerships and promoting inclusive educational opportunities," campus officials noted.

Food Innovation

On the same day, DOST Region X representatives Dorina Marie E. Ytang and Hope C. Bañas joined university leadership, including instruction dean Dr. Analyn G. Abdulraof and research director Dr. Karen Gay P. Dy, for a separate signing ceremony.

The DOST agreement brings new food-processing equipment to the campus Food Innovation Center to help students, faculty, and local producers create safer, market-ready agricultural and fishery products.

The agency also recognized the college for hosting its recent food marketing workshop aimed at helping local growers package and sell their harvest.
