CAGAYAN de Oro City - Parents of students at Pedro “Oloy” Roa Sr. National High School in Barangay Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City, can now avoid the added expense of renting outside venues for major school activities following the turnover of a P10-million multipurpose building on Wednesday, November 4.
The facility gives students a permanent space for school programs, performances and other activities, allowing parents to watch and support their children without having to contribute to venue rental costs.
First District Representative Lordan Suan said the building was intended to benefit both students and their parents, who previously had to shoulder additional expenses whenever the school needed a larger venue.
“Mga parents, para ni sa inyo. Hinaot makita ninyo inyong mga anak nga naa mo diri, musuporta sa ila, magtan-aw sa ilang performance,” Suan said. He encouraged students to make happy memories in the new facility, which he hoped would become part of their school experiences.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) First District Engineering Office built the facility, which was formally turned over to the school community.
School principal Love Mandawe said the building represents more than a physical structure, providing students with opportunities to learn, participate in activities and showcase their talents.
“We will have a functional and beautiful space that will serve generations of PN Roa Senior High School Students,” Mandawe said.
Mandawe said the facility would serve generations of students, giving them a place to develop their skills, take part in school activities, and create lasting memories.
