THE secret to happiness is to do things that make you happy and not sad and angry.
So, if you're in the middle of something that makes you sad and angry, you pretend to be happy by pasting a smile on your face until you've convinced yourself that you'll survive through this.
Patience is indeed a virtue. That helps you smile instead of throwing tables and chairs at people. How is that? The moment they enter a place, you throw tables and chairs at them. Simple, eh?
Technology is now so advanced, you click the video icon and there's your friend looking like Grumpy, Sneezy and Sleepy the moment she wakes up. As long as she's also online and the Internet connection is doing fine, you'll see her dark eye luggage, the messy hair, the runny nose thanks to rhinitis.
But despite the advances in technology, there are people who still don't reply to your text. Most probably because they're the busiest people in the universe, and by the time they can reply to your text, they've already forgotten about your text. Or they're driving. Or they leave their phones somewhere. Or they forget to bring their phones along with them. Or they purposely turn off their phones. Which is OK, by the way. You need to do that, too, to get away from it all.
If only the most advanced phone can finally learn to read its owner's brain and answer calls and texts in his behalf, then this world will be a better place.
Yes, there are people who can be considered as the busiest in the universe. Even busier than the aliens living in that other newly discovered galaxy. Sometimes it's a choice to be busy and the reason may also be to get away from it all. With such a busy sked where you're hopping from one chaos to another, there's no time to think of deep thoughts and that helps in, hmmm, keeping you away from it all.
Now, if there are people who don't answer your texts, and you're the type who takes it against them, you're probably already calculating the possible reasons behind the absence of replies. It could be because you're a nobody compared to the managers, business owners, top executives, moguls, taipans, CEOs, politicians, mayors, the country's president, congressmen, governors, government agencies' regional directors, etc. in their phone book. You're simply an unknown, a nobody in their list, you don't deserve a prompt reply.
If they don't reply to your text, you have no multi-million business deal that you could withdraw from their list of most valued clients, no multi-million deposit to withdraw from their bank, no multi-million project contract that you won't sign. You're a nobody in their list, you have no power at all, and your pen and signature have no power, too. Therefore, replying to your text is relegated to the bottom of their priorities because for now there's the text from the boss, the president, the manager, the valued client, ok, even the current apple of the eye. You happen to be none of the above, so you don't deserve a prompt reply.
You're considerate--you don't call people at, say, 6 am. Or 7 am. Besides, you're insomniac, you sleep late, work sometimes allows you to sleep at 4:30 am, or you don't sleep at all, so, how can you even wake up at 7 a.m.? Wait, if you don't sleep, you don't even have to wake up since you're already awake! But you text instead of calling, and wait for the longest time for replies. You have to accept the fact that in the eyes of other people, you are a nobody.
But then, there's that other kind of nobody, and it goes like this: "I want nobody nobody but you, I want nobody nobody but you/How can I be with another, I don't want any other/I want nobody nobodynobodynobody."
And that nobody has a brain whose thought bubble went like this yesterday: I will text all our members to join the weekly feeding program at the school tomorrow since Aug. 21 is a non-working holiday, meaning, hmmm, no work, with the busy sked morphing to not busy and finally allowing the members to participate in the project. The brain somehow forgot that the holiday includes no school for the students. Duh!
Had that brain gone on to text everyone, there will be a group of members going to the school today, only to find nobody there. As in, nobody nobody but them, the members.
But the feeding is now one of those things that make the nobody happy, thus, she will continue to support the project for as long as she has the patience to wait for replies to her texts
