Aguirre Digos City Bureau Chief DIGOS City — The toll in the latest shooting incident on Saturday night rose to two after police confirmed the death of the 18-year-old department store worker reported to be in critical condition after the assault. Anna Mae Julmuri Cali, 18, died hours after arriving at the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City. Rhea Salingatag, 24, died upon arrival at the provincial hospital on Saturday night. Reagan Salingatag, 28, Rhea’s husband is still fighting for his life inside the hospital. Earlier reports said the victims who are all residents of Sitio Biao, Barangay Cogon were heading home when they were fired upon by two armed men onboard another motorcyle along the national highway in Barangay Aplaya, this city. In an interview, Digos police chief Supt. Demetrius Taypin said they already gathered two leads that could help them solve the crime. Mayor Joseph Peñas said he already ordered the police to crack the case in the soonest possible time. “I am still waiting for the result of the police investigation. I hope they could provide positive results regarding the series of shooting incidents in the city,” Peñas said.
