By LITO RULONA Correspondent TEACHERS and parents at the City Central School have decided to say enough is enough to the alleged abuses in the school, and filed a complaint against controversial principal Arnold Tejero and his assistant. The city council’s committee on education started investigating into the complaints against Dr. Tejero and assistant principal Rudy Villalobos. The committee’s chair, Councilor Suzette Daba, said at least 17 teachers and 10 parents, representing the Parents and Teachers Association and Cooperative, sent the committee a six-page complaint against Tejero and Villalobos. “The concerned parents of City Central School are (left) with no other option except to bring these issues to your attention,” reads part of the complaint sent to the committee. The complainants said the issues include “immorality, abuse of power, abuse of authority... graft and corruption committed in broad daylight.” The group accused Tejero and Villalobos of committing “unparalleled” offenses, acts that “blatantly defied” the Civil Service Code of Ethics, and rules of the Department of Education (Deped). “This needs to stop immediately,” reads another portion of the complaint. The complainants asked Daba’s committee to look into the alleged abuse of power and acts supposedly resulting from Tejero’s alleged “obsession” with attractive teachers in the school. The group attached the affidavit of a teacher who filed a complaint against Tejero before the Office of the Ombudsman to prove their point. They said the teacher has been subjected to “all forms of harassment” everyday since she filed the complaint. Another teacher, they said, was preparing a similar complaint against Tejero. The group complained that Tejero has been harassing teachers and single mothers with impunity allegedly with the help of Villalobos. They also cited the complaint for sexual harassment that was filed by a single mother against Tejero. The complainant, they said, has sought Tejero’s transfer to another school. The woman has accused Tejero of allegedly trying to become intimate with her inside a motel in Kauswagan. “In the counter-affidavit of Tejero, he never denied... (that) he entered the Resonance Inn together with his victim. It is (sic) not a holiday and Mr. Tejero professed that he reported for work that day.”
