By LITO RULONA, Correspondent Newly-installed Police Regional Office–10 regional director Chief Supt. Agripino Javier has urged former-Lugait mayor Willie Lim and two other Iligan officials to surrender and submit themselves for immediate investigation. This was disclosed by PRO 10 spokesperson Supt. Surki Sereñas saying Lim, former-Iligan City mayor Lawrence Cruz, and former-Iligan City Rep. Vicente Belmonte, Jr. should immediately submit themselves to an investigation as ordered by the new police director for northern Mindanao. “The purpose is to conduct investigation with their help para mahatagan sila og katin-awan kung unsa ba kining mga allegation against kanila,” he said. He said the order from the director’s office also include that they would conduct immediate investigation if they would refuse to surrender before the PRO 10 headquarter in Camp Alagar, barangay Lapasan, this city. “Our regional director has already issued statement that they should surrender so the investigation would be fair. The investigation would also discuss with them regarding the bases of the intelligence report as pronounced by President Rodrigo Duterte,” he added. Sereñas explained all they have to do is just to explain themselves and to hear their official reaction to their reported involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region. “We will also submit reports to the national headquarters of the PNP if they refuse to surrender and coordinate with the investigation conducted by the police. They should explain themselves why their name was implicated on the intelligence report,” he pointed out. He also adviced the former government officials to submit themselves to a voluntarily drug test before they surrender to Camp Alagar. “(The) drug test is part of the procedure. Hopefully they would do this,” he said. On Wednesday, Lim called his inclusion in President Duterte’s so-called narco-list unfair that already tarnished his family’s reputation. He disclosed that he and his family now fear for their lives. But Sereñas assured the former officials that they would conduct a fair investigation as the PRO 10  was awarded by the PNP national office as the best implementing police regional office on their drive against distribution of illegal drugs. “In the local scene I will not confirm that their names were not included as part of the illegal drug trade because all report gathered were based on intelligence report and was submitted directly to Malacañang,” he said. He said the Camp Alagar is only certain that the inclusion of their names as issued by President Duterte has its own basis.
