SEN. Grace Poe urged Mayor Oscar Moreno over the weekend to do something about the worsening vehicular traffic problem in the city after she was caught in an hour-long traffic jam on CM Recto Ave..
The senator was on her way to the city proper from the Laguindingan airport in Misamis Oriental to keynote the gathering here of members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Philippine Eagles) and to receive an award from the group.
At the Grand Caprice, Limketkai center, Poe told Moreno said that while traffic jams are a sign of a city’s growth, steps have to be made by the local government to address the traffic problem.
“The traffic problem is not only being experienced in Metro Manila. Now, it’s already being experienced here in Cagayan de Oro. Ito ay nagpapakita na improved na talaga ang Cagayan de Oro pero kailangan lunasin ang problema sa trapiko kaagad,” she said.
Poe also urged Moreno to continue city hall’s social services program, particularly the ones that would benefit disaster survivors.
Poe came over to speak before the Philippine Eagles. The group gave her its highest outstanding service award for her contributions as a legislator.
