CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Recovering persons who used drugs (PWUDs) are proving that second chances can lead to new opportunities as they showcased and sold locally made products during the city's Monthly Tabo at the City Hall Mini-Park.
The livelihood fair, held every third week of the month, is part of the AfterCare Program under the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP).
It provides responders with a steady venue to earn income, develop entrepreneurial skills and regain confidence as they rebuild their lives.
Beyond generating livelihood, the initiative helps recovering PWUDs transition back into the community by encouraging them to become productive, responsible and self-reliant citizens, free from illegal drugs.
The City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), led by Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy through the City Anti-Drug Abuse Division–Oro Wellness Center (CADAD-Oro Wellness Center), urged residents to support the program by purchasing products made by the responders and their barangay partners.
City officials said community support plays a vital role in giving recovering PWUDs hope, dignity and a better future while reinforcing the city's commitment to rehabilitation and inclusive development. (Ben Balce, Editorial Lead)
