One of those proclaimed winner was Iligan Mayor Celso Regencia who won a second office term while in detention in connection with the 2014 ambush of the group of Rep. Vicente Belmonte Jr.. Under trial in connection with the ambush, Regencia is an inmate at the Iligan city jail. The city has a new vice mayor, Roman Catholic priest Jemar Vera Cruz who ran under Regencia’s ticket. Iligan also has a new congressman, Frederick Siao of the United Nationalist Alliance. Iligan’s new set of councilors are Samuel Huertas, Eric Capitan, Jesse Ray Balanay, Demosthenes Plando, Belinda Lim, Sorilie Christine Bacsarpa, Rosevi Quenie Belmonte, Ian Uy, Randy Ryan Grancis Ong, Bernard Pacana, Petronilo Pardillo, and Renato Ancis. In Misamis Oriental, the provincial board of canvassers proclaimed Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano as the winner in Monday’s elections. His running mate Jose Mari Pelaez was also reelected. Also proclaimed were reelected Reps. Pedro Unabia and Juliette Uy of Misamis Oriental’s 1st and 2nd districts, respectively. Proclaimed winners in the race for provincial board seats are Jigjag Pelaez, Wayne Militante, Virgilia Dumadag, Erik Khu, and Vincent Pelaez, Mercy Grace Acain, Mario Emano,Nancy Madjos, Gerardo Sabal, and Olivier Boris Actub. In Surigao City, Mayor Ernesto Matugas Sr. was proclaimed winner on Tuesday night. Former mayor Alfonso Casurra was also proclaimed as the city’s new vice mayor--he beat Matugas’s running mate Vice Mayor Danilo Menor. Surigao’s new set of councilors: Ernesto Matugas Jr., Kent Lim Yuipco, Victor Borja, Fernando Almeda III, Noel Christian Catre Jr., Rise Faith Recabo, Sim Castrence,Pepe Consigo Consigno, Batanag Abian, and Jose Edradan Jr.. In Surigao del Norte, Gov. Sol Matugas won a reelection and was proclaimed winner. Former governor Robert Ace Barbers also won the congressional seat in Surigao del Norte’s 2nd District against Matugas’s bet, lawyer Lucille Sering. In the 1st District, Francisco Matugas Jr. won in the congressional race. Surigao del Norte Vice Gov. Carlos Egay Jr. won a reelection and was declared the winner in Monday’s elections. Surigao del Norte’s provincial board members: Billy Navarro, Mamerto Gallanida, Edgar Anomar, Nathaniel Plaza, Leonila Gorgolon, Cathy Gopico, Kenneth Joel Tiu, Eddie Escuyos, Ricardo Condia, and Raul Roman Cubillan. In Davao Occidental, the provincial board of canvassers proclaimed three unopposed candidates on Tuesday afternoon. Proclaimed were Lorna Bautista Bandigan as congresswoman of Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur Gov. Claude Bautista, and Rep. Franklin Bautista of the 2nd District of Davao del Sur  as the new vice governor of Davao Occidental.
