By LITO RULONA Correspondent COUNCILOR Zaldy Ocon and Task Force Hapsay Dalan chairman Jose Edgardo Uy have kissed and made up. The two officials ironed out their differences at the city council on Wednesday night with Ocon expressing his endorsement of the Uy-backed P90-million budget proposal for the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) next year. Ocon earlier sought Uy’s ouster apparently as a result of his spat with traffic aides who issued him a ticket for a parking violation near Cogon market. The next day, the councilor allegedly slapped one of the traffic aides before Uy and RTA chief Nonito Oclarit at the city council. Uy subsequently hit back at Ocon, saying he should not be asked to resign because he did not slap anyone. Ocon, Uy and Oclarit faced each other during a committee meeting at the city council on Wednesday night. There, Councilor Edna Dahino, committee chair, appealed to the bickering officials to bury the hatchet, and concentrate on the tasks at hand. “Undanga na kana ninyo kay pareho kamo managhigalaay og nagserbisyo kamo sa publiko,” said Dahino following a 45-minute heated discussion on the slapping incident. They all shook hands after arguing.
