CAGAYAN de Oro City — Police confiscated nearly P138 million worth of illegal drugs across Northern Mindanao in the first half of 2026, as authorities stepped up anti-drug operations with the help of barangays and local communities.

Police northern Mindanao spokesperson Police Major Joann Navarro, said officers carried out 1,641 anti-illegal drug operations from Jan. 1 to June 30, leading to the arrest of 1,908 suspects.

The operations resulted in the seizure of 20,219.30 grams of shabu and 3,534.36 grams of marijuana, with a combined estimated street value of P137,915,628.56.

Navarro said the campaign's success was driven in large part by the cooperation of barangay officials and residents, who provided information and supported police efforts against illegal drugs.

Police also reported that two individuals were killed in separate anti-drug operations during the six-month period.

Police Regional Office-10 Reg’l Director Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano urged the public to continue working with law enforcement by reporting suspected illegal drug activities in their communities.

He said the sustained support of barangays and residents remains vital to keeping neighborhoods safe and preventing the spread of illegal drugs.
