BANGSAMORO Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm) Health Minister Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr. has expressed support for postponing the region’s parliamentary elections, citing unresolved issues that need attention.
Speaking yesterday during the turnover of the 167th Malasakit Center at Tamparan District Hospital, Sinolinding said delaying the election would allow more time to address key concerns.
“By postponing the election, they are giving enough time to resolve both minor and major issues in the Barmm,” he said.
One major issue, according to Sinolinding, is the exclusion of Jolo, Sulu, where the peace process and decommissioning efforts remain incomplete.
“There are still many things that need to be addressed before we can move forward,” he added.
Despite the ongoing challenges, Sinolinding highlighted the increasing economic activity in Lanao del Sur, which he attributed to the region’s continued peace efforts.
“We are witnessing the fruits of peace. The people here are committed to supporting the peace process,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sinolinding welcomed the establishment of the 167th Malasakit Center, calling it a significant step in providing financial security for residents who require medical care.
“In Lanao del Sur, people will no longer have to spend their own money when they get sick,” he said.
Barmm currently has 27 hospitals, with 15 already equipped with Malasakit Centers.
