By LITO RULONA Correspondent THE Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) yesterday started looking into the allegations made against embattled City Central School principal Arnold Tejero. Dr. Tejero has been slapped with complaints on lascivious conduct for bringing the mother of a pupil to a motel, and abuse of authority. An organized group of teachers and parents have accused him of immorality, abuse of power, abuse of authority, and graft. Romeo Maganto, a OSG consultant, said he and his group were given the cold shoulder, and he expressed dismay. “We are just visiting the school to verify the complaint pero iba yung ginawa ni Villalobos,” said Maganto, referring to assistant principal Rudy Villalobos. Tejero was nowhere to be found at first. Maganto said Villalobos refused to talk to him and his group, and he (Villalobos) kept on talking to somebody with his cellphone. He said they were ignored in the principal’s office. “Iba yung pagtingin niya sa amin,” he said. Maganto opted to meet with the complainants--cooperative members, teachers, and school staff members--in a conference room of the school’s home economics building. There, they discussed the group’s complaints sent to the Department of Education (Deped). Maganto said copies of the complaint were furnished her office. “Those affected here are the children, and somebody must intervene here. Problema nila yun if they will not talk to anybody,” he said. Minutes later, Tejero came with his staff, and apologized for what had happened. During discussions that lasted for over an hour, Tejero assured Maganto that he would vacate his post if ordered by his superiors in the Deped. Maganto told Tejero that there were also complaints that teachers who have been complaining were being subjected to forms of harassment by him and Villalobos. “We, in the OSG, will now intervene on matters that involve any government office, and if public officials are involved in controversies. We will not hesitate to issue our recommendations,” he said.
