THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) over the weekend arrested a 50-year old man who went in hiding three years ago after killing his neighbor for calling him “nitibo.”
CIDG provincial officer Chief Insp. Napoleon Carpio identified the suspect as Salcedo Minister a.k.a. Docdoc, of Sitio Man-ai, Barangay Tignapoloan. He was arrested in Sitio Dunggo-an of the same barangay.
Minister went into hiding for three years after shooting and killing his neighbor with a M1 garand rifle because he was called “nitibo.” The killing took place during May 2013 elections.
Minister said he hid because the relatives of the victim, Tata Galanido, were hunting him.
“Wala ko nagbasol nga ako siyang napatay kay gitawag ko niya og nitibo. Sakit kaayo kung ikaw ang tawagon,” he said.
Authorities are also looking for Minister’s alleged accomplices: Ariston Bucunia and Ranger Mansomayan.
