Amante, in a Feb. 19 complaint before the City Prosecutor’s Office, alleged that the barangay officials, headed by Golden Ribbon barangay chair Juby Ignacio Delgado, lied under oath, and made up stories to falsely accuse him of wrongdoing.

Amante’s complaint stemmed from the barangay chairpersons’ plunder charges against Amante, JD Legaspi Construction owner Jesusito Legaspi, and members of city hall’s Bids and Awards Committee in connection with the construction of P253-million Butuan City Poly Sports Complex.

Delgado’s group also earlier filed administrative complaints for grave misconduct, gross negligence and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service against Legaspi and BAC members.

Amante, in a nine-pages complaint, said the accusations were blatant lies.

Some of the prominent respondents in Amante’s complaint were Delgado, Florence Sadiasa, Gilbert Enriquez, Raymond Carabuena, Edna Guerrero, Lauro Abuzo, Dennis Felix Gonzaga, Angelo Atupan, Fidel Ceniza Jr., Segundina Mundia, Willie Calabia II, Venusito Clarito Jr., Edgar Lao, and Arturo Gado. There were 29 other respondents.
